A Day of Vegetarian Food at Walt Disney World Resort
Last week, I made a visit to Walt Disney World Resort! I hadn’t gone in four years, so was quite eager to return to my “second home”. As I ventured for a fun-filled day at Magic Kingdom at EPCOT with my park hopper ticket, I was excited to try some new vegetarian meals! I remembered from my last visit that Walt Disney World, with their large selection of restaurants on property, have some amazingly delicious vegetarian options.
Breakfast at Magic Kingdom or EPCOT
My husband and I were excited to get to the rides, so our go-to at any Disney Park is always the Starbucks along Main Street! I love that it’s a Starbucks menu but themed to the decor and feel of each park to help get you in the Disney spirit. I had a black iced coffee (refreshing in Florida’s humid weather), and a spinach feta egg white wrap. It is a whole wheat wrap with egg whites, feta cheese, spinach and sun-dried tomatoes. It’s a quick and healthy option that helps get your day started faster, and the lines typically are short first thing in the morning. It’s also very affordable, so you can save your money to go towards a more decadent table-service dinner later in the day.
To enjoy the wrap, I recommend the tables in the courtyard near Starbucks (between Starbucks and the jewelry shops). They’re very quite and scenic (a winning combination). You can also enjoy this at EPCOT, if you wanted to follow my day of food and just stay in one park!
Lunch at EPCOT
Mid-day, we park hopped over to EPCOT (one of my favorite Disney Parks!). I like getting lunch before entering World Showcase, since I am normally pretty hungry by the time I make the treck to another park. I ate at Sunshine Seasons at The Land pavilion, which is near Soarin’ and Living with the Land attractions. They have a vegan dish that is basmati rice, topped with cauliflower, peas, carrots, mild curry sauce and cut up Gardein “chicken” (a soy/plant-based chicken alternative, my personal favorite brand). Not many Disney restaurants have soy meat alternatives, so I quite enjoy this rare option.
Dinner at EPCOT
There are near endless possibilites for vegetarian meal options at EPCOT, but one of my personal favorites is Via Napoli in the Italy pavilion at World Showcase. Not only because I find the Italy pavilion very scenic and romantic at sunset time, but because I think their pizza is the best I’ve ever had. And fear not, they offer much mor than the typical cheese or margherita pizza options for vegetarians, they have a pretty hefty veggie pizza selection. My husband and I split a 10-inch Carciofi pizza (artichoke, fontina, mozzarella, and truffle oil). Cooked to perfection in the wood-fired ovens, the pizzas at Via Napoli never fail to please! You can check out their whole menu here.
There are nearly endless mix-and-match possibilities for breakfast + lunch + dinner options for vegetarian guests at Walt Disney World Resort, with my day just giving you an idea of some of my favorite and what you can find.
