Now that spring is here in full swing, I have been loving using fresh, in-season fruits in my meals and recipes. There’s just something extra refreshing about a fruity taste paired with the warm breezes and flowers blooming everywhere! I have been wanting to make meals that have that spring, fruity taste but are high in protein. Since I primarily eat a plant-based vegan diet, I always love finding new forms of great plant-based protein (and if it’s sweet all the better, since I do have a bit of a sweet tooth!).

I discovered that my local Walmart started carrying Silk Dairy-Free Yogurt Alternative in several flavors! I loved being able to go into a retailer that I go to all the time for everyday items and find a vegan yogurt alternative for myself –without having to go to a specialty grocery store! I picked up my two favorite flavors of Silk Dairy-Free Yogurt Alternative: Strawberry and Peach Mango.

For my lifestyle, these yogurt alternatives are a perfect, easy snack or meal for me to enjoy since they come in individual-sized containers, and allow me to add 6 grams of plant-powered protein into my vegan lifestyle. I especially love that Silk’s Dairy-Free Yogurt Alternatives are also gluten-free, cholesterol-free, an contain no carrageenan, casein, or saturated fats.

Now that I’ve discovered I can easily buy Silk Dairy-Free Yogurt Alternatives at Walmart, I wanted to use them not only for snacks but also part of a delicious meal. I decided to top my two favorite Silk flavors with colorful produce to create gourmet vegan yogurt bowls!

Smoothie bowls are currently all the rage, but thought a fun take on the traditional smoothie bowl would be a yogurt bowl. This way, you still have the protein and fruit, but keeping the yogurt’s creamy and smooth texture.


Strawberry Vegan Yogurt Bowl

You can of course get creative and make your own Silk Dairy-Free Yogurt Alternative bowl, but you can use my flavor combinations to draw inspiration from!


  • Strawberries
  • Cucumber
  • Mint

Instructions: Place 1-2 containers of Silk Dairy-Free Yogurt Alternative in Strawberry flavor in a bowl. Top with the desired amount of strawberry slices, cucumber slices, and mint leaves. To pack in more mint flavor, tear your mint leaves into tiny pieces.

This is a bit more of a “foodie” combination, but the crispy, light taste of cucumber tastes incredibly refreshing when paired with juicy strawberries and creamy strawberry vegan yogurt. The mint leaves add a surprising yet delightful burst of added flavor.


Peach Mango Vegan Yogurt Bowl


Instructions: Place 1-2 containers of your Peach Mango in a bowl, and then top with the amount of ingredients desired.
