Running Universal Virtual 5K

Last year, Universal Studios Hollywood began “Running Universal.” They kicked it off with a Minions themed run, then a Jurassic World themed one. I participated in the Minion themed run, and was my favorite theme park 5K I had done! Part of what made it so special was that participants got to run on the Universal backlot. If you’re a Universal Studios Hollywood fan or a movie buff, getting to run around these iconic locations of the backlot was very special. I look forward to doing an in-person 5K when it can be safely done again someday.
In the meantime, Running Universal is offering a DreamWorks Trolls themed 5K, 10K and 1K, as well as a Jurassic World 5K (now sold out) and 10K. I love this option since it’s not only a fun way to motivate you to get out and active PLUS you get a DreamWorks Trolls medal, but it also means even if you’re not local to Hollywood you can participate!
If you’re unfamiliar with virtual races, it basically means you run or walk the race you select on your own time. You register on RunningUniversal.com along with the fee to receive the medal and other Running Universal merch. On their site, you can also download and print bibs for the races as well as finisher certificates, if you want to have that in addition to the swag you receive in the mail when you register.

When registering, note that if you’re a Universal Studios Passholder you also get a discount on the Trolls Virtual races registration! Registration for the Trolls races are until September 30th. Registration for the Jurassic World 10K is open until December 30th. You can use code HEALTHY5 to get $5 off registration for the Trolls 5K, 10K or party package.
I love how the Trolls medals have actual Troll hair!
