Disney and Pixar Up Home Decor on shopDisney

I just moved to a new house near Disneyland in Anaheim, CA this past September, and have been loving adding Disney touches to rooms like my office, kitchen and more. I saw that shopDisney recently released Pixar Up home decor online, and loved how cute and colorful it was, perfect to add some sense of “adventure” to my living room! With Pixar’s Up having the perfect combination of the emotions and memories connected to one’s home mixed with the dreaming of adventure, it seemed like the perfect fit for the McDonald family home.

For our entry way into our house, I placed a colorful, geometric rug from AllModern on the floor (the shapes reminded me of Mary Blair’s concept art for it’s a Small World). We hung shelves to place our mix of vintage Disney records as well as vinyl records from Disney Music Emporium for some storage as well as wall decor. I then placed a chair with the new colorful Pixar Up throw pillow. On the side table I have the majority of my selection from shopDisney’s new line of Pixar Up home decor.
I have an Up house cookie jar, a little Up faux succulent planter, and a Paradise Falls jar to store our spare coins (if you couldn’t tell, I love finding decor that’s functional and cute!). Except instead of saving for Paradise Falls, we will be using it to save for a future trip to another South American destination: Rio de Jeneiro. My daughter Amelia LOVES The Three Cabarellos, specifically Jose Carioca who is from Rio, and has dreamt about going there. I also personally want to go, since I find the history of Walt and his team of animators dubbed “El Grupo” researching in South America for The Three Caballeros super fascinating! You can listen to that history more in-depth in the episode of my Disney history podcast “Cartoons to Castles” that I co-host in our episode about it here.
And of course, we have our record player to relax, dream and listen to music in this cozy and colorful new nook in our home! In these pictures I have my Up collectors vinyl from Disney Music Emporium on the player.
