Everything You Need to Know About LEGOLAND California Brick-or-Treat

Each year my family and I make a trip to San Diego County for an annual trip to LEGOLAND California Brick-or-Treat, the after hours Halloween party event at LEGOLAND California! This after hours event is a seperate ticket from regular admission, lasting four hours. Guests of all ages can dress up for the party! Now if you’ve ever thought about going to Brick-or-Treat, wondering what offerings they have during the party and when it is, I have all the information for you!

When and How Much is Brick-or-Treat in 2019?

LEGOLAND California Brick-or-Treat is from 5-9pm on September 28, October 5, 9, 12, and 26th. Since there are limited dates, I highly recommend you get tickets ASAP if you’re considering going! The cost of Brick-or-Treat can vary, depending on the option you select. To go during just the 4 hour party is $64. Or, you can get a full day ticket to both LEGOLAND California and SEA LIFE Aquarium AND the Brick-or-Treat party for $79 (at just $15 more, that’s an insane value to be able to go the whole day!). They also offer a $99 ticket that includes a 2-day admission ticket to both parks as well as the after hours party. And lastly, they offer a ticket and hotel package beginning from $129 per person that’s a 2-day admission ticket, stay overnight at a LEGOLAND California hotel, free breakfast buffet, early access into LEGOLAND, and of course admission to the Brick-or-Treat party. You can shop tickets here.

  • Live entertainment and atmosphere characters

I have always enjoyed LEGOLAND California’s Brick-or-Treat party since it’s a great way to ride their attractions with very short lines, and I am blown away by the amount of live entertainment! All the rides and playgrounds are open during Brick-or-Treat, including the Ghost Cruise, which is a subtle Halloween-overlay on the “Coast Cruise” attraction. It’s the definition of spoopy! You will also see lots of Halloween decor throughout Miniland, U.S.A. The restaurants are also all open during Brick-or-Treat, my favorite being the vegan bao buns in the Ninjago area. They also have special seasonal treats available for purchase, including the pumpkin crepe topped with whipped cream!

Throughout the park, they have trick-or-treat stations, which can be found by visiting the places on the park map marked by a candy corn icon. The amount of candy given is always pretty generous! It is always non-chocolate candy, such as AirHeads, Twizzlers, Smarties, Jolly Ranchers, Nerds, and Amelia got a Power Crunch kids birthday cake flavored protein bar which she LOVED. They have treat stations in both LEGOLAND California and SEA LIFE Aquarium. I love that they give you a very large bag for trick-or-treating to encourage repeat visits to the lines! Aside from getting treats, there’s a few stations where you can get a “Pop Badge”, a plastic badge you can attach to your clothing or a lanyard to show different challenges you’ve completed or places you’ve visited during Brick-or-Treat.

HUGE Trick-or-treat bag you get!

There is plenty of live entertainment, including a singing and dance show called “The Witchettes.” Throughout the park, you will find stilt walkers dressed up in Halloween costumes. They are great about taking their time with guests, making sure everyone wants to get the pictures that they want! And there are SO many walk around characters throughout the park, making it very easy to get lots of pictures with a variety of characters. With live shows and walk around characters becoming more infrequent at many theme parks, I was glad to see plenty of them at LEGOLAND California.

One of my favorite things about LEGOLAND California Brick-or-Treat is that the party’s admission includes BOTH parks at LEGOLAND California Resort, LEGOLAND California and SEA LIFE Aquarium. Both are decorated for Halloween, and both have treat stations. They have an entrance into SEA LIFE Aquarium from inside LEGOLAND, so it’s easy to go back-and-forth between the parks. Other offerings include a costume contest, dance party, Spirits of Brick-or-Treat Light show and an interactive show called Frankenbrick’s Lab.

Is it Worth it to Get a Ticket to LEGOLAND California Brick-or-Treat?

The short answer: Yes! We have made it a tradition to go each year because we love it so much. With getting access to both parks, getting to go on ALL the rides with a discounted admission, and the amount of costumed characters out-and-about, not to mention the cool decor it seems like a great value to us! It is also a huge bonus if you have young kids, so there are so many kid-friendly rides, with most of the attractions being a height of 40 inches or less. And make sure to act fast before this special event sells out!
