Disclosure: I received these Garmin products complimentary in exchange for my honest review.

Garmin Rey Legacy Saga Series Smartwatch

For years now, I have been wanting a smartwatch. The week Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker opened in theatres two exciting things happened: An amazing movie that made this Star Wars fan beyond happy, AND I got a smartwatch. However, the special thing about this smartwatch? It is a special edition Rey-inspired smartwatch.

Inspired by the iconic heroin in the newest trilogy in the Skywalker saga, Garmin has created a Rey-inspired smartwatch as part of their Legacy Saga Series. I love that it is a classic looking watch that can go with any outfit (Star Wars or not) with just enough Star Wars touches to make this Star Wars fangirl happy. It has two different digital watch faces to choose from, one with the Millennium Falcon, and the other using lightsabers as the clock hands. On the metal part of the watch face, there is the Jedi knight symbol on top. The watch band is white with beige stitching, inspired by Rey’s The Rise of Skywalker outfit. There is also a band you can switch out that’s white silicone, which I use when I’m going to be working out and sweating.

This smartwatch has truly been a lifesaver when it comes to my job. Being very social media heavy, it’s nice that my push notifications and texts show up on my watch. Prior to my watch, I would look at my phone whenever it buzzed with a notification to see if something work related was happening. Then inevitably, even if the notification wasn’t important I would be sucked into my phone checking other non-urgent updates “just because”. It was a big distraction! Now that the notifications pop up on my watch, I can see without pulling out my phone if there’s a matter that needs my attention right away. I have found that I am way less distracted! Now aside from eliminating work distractions, my Garmin Star Wars smartwatch has been great in terms of maintaining healthy habits.

With just one swipe, the watch face will tell you your heart rate and your stress level. This really helps signal and see evidence that I need to relax if my stress level is rising! You can also see your daily steps and calorie burning. While it’s good to not get so wrapped up in the number when it comes to calories and steps, I do find that it’s a good guidemap to signal that I should get outside and move my legs and get fresh air (very important when you have a very computer-based job like myself). Another big thing for me is the feature to keep track of how much water you consume. While eating healthy and working out have always been big priorities for me, I have always been bad at drinking the recommended amount of water each day. It’s much easier to keep track with the feature on my watch!

Other features on the watch include Star Wars-themed badges, such as BB-8 rolling across the watch’s face when you reach a daily goal. You can also sync your watch to your Spotify, Deezer or Amazon Music accounts to listen to music on-the-go. It makes it easy to use your Garmin Star Wars smartwatch for all these features since it has a 7-day long battery life! You can check out its complete features, as well as purchase here.

Star Wars vivofit jr. 2

Garmin’s amazing technology to improve fitness, health and productivity isn’t just for adults! They have created some amazing products for kids, one of which Amelia has: Garmin’s light side-themed vivofit jr. 2. I can’t express enough how much Amelia loves this watch! She loves that she can tell the time and date on her very own watch, practicing her skills each day that she’s learning at school. Like with the adult smartwatch, the vivofit jr. 2 has trackers to tell you how far you’ve walked and if you’ve met your fitness goal.

Again, the purpose isn’t to get too hung up on the actual numbers, especially for kids. But when my daughter sees the steps and reaches goals, which then unlock game pieces on the Garmin app, she views it as an outdoor adventure challenge! Versus just wanting to be carried or go in her stroller, she’s excited to be outside and explore, which in turn increases our family bonding time. In just the week she’s at the watch, it’s been incredible to see her increased passion for wanting to walk and spend some quality non-screen time together.

You can also set chore tasks and reminders for kids, and not worry about remembering to charge (it has a replaceable battery that lasts more than a year). You can learn more about the Garmin Star Wars vivofit jr. 2 here.
