Maleficent Inspired DIY New Years Party Crackers
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is soon coming to Digital and Blu-ray! It comes out on Blu-ray January 14th, and then Digital 4K Ultra HD and Movies Anywhere December 31st.
Since it’s coming out on New Years Eve, I thought that was a great excuse to add some Maleficent: Mistress of Evil flair to our family’s New Years Eve celebration! I collaborated with Disney to create Maleficent DIY New Years Eve Party crackers:

This was my first time making DIY New Years Eve party crackers, and it ended up being a really enjoyable craft to make. The base of the cracker is very easy to make. And the best part is you can let your creativity flow by adding any decor you want to the top of it! I went to my local craft store looking for ways to create a New Years Eve party cracker inspired by Aurora and Maleficent’s home, the Moors. The Moors is a beautiful enchanted forest, filled with fairies, with Queen Aurora as their kind ruler.
With Aurora’s dresses often made from the blue fairy named Flittle, you can often see blue butterflies flying around her gowns. Queen Aurora is often known to wear flower crowns. When I was at the craft store and came across these blue butterflies, it inspired the rest of the cracker, and so I looked for blue flowers to add. In the scrapbooking section, I found this wonderful paper that looked like a log, which then inspired me to find some artificial moss to include more of the Moors’ look into the party cracker. You can check out the instructions below on how to do the full DIY:

I hope you enjoy this DIY for New Years party crackers inspired by Queen Aurora’s home, the Moors! You can pre-order Maleficent: Mistress of Evil here.
