Themed Disney Teas at Steakhouse 55 at Disneyland Hotel
One of my favorite Disneyland Resort dining experiences is the themed teas available at Steakhouse 55, the elegant restaurant inside the Disneyland Hotel. There are typically 2-3 themed teas each year with a different Disney theme, and in between there are classic afternoon teas. For the teas, you can select the classic tea ($55 per person) the premium tea ($70 per person), or the Kids tea ($35 per person) – and good news, annual passholder discounts apply! At Disneyland Hotel’s Steakhouse 55, you can book a themed tea on weekend afternoons.

For the tea party, I Disneybounded as Bonnie from Toy Story 3, and Amelia Disneybounded as Mrs. Nesbit from Toy Story.

My husband Disneybounded as Woody!
During Pixar Fest in 2018, they had a special afternoon tea experience themed to Pixar. For the classic tea, you receive unlimited iced or hot tea, an assortment of tea sandwiches, tea desserts, and 2 small scones. For the premium tea, you get sparkling wine, a souvenir Remy straw, and an Inside Out themed salad in addition to the scones, sandwiches, and desserts. For the classic and premium teas, the sandwiches include an avocado toast (inspired by the green aliens), toast with veggies on top (inspired by Ratatouille), toast with carrot cream cheese (inspired by Merida), and a blue and yellow deviled egg (inspired by Dory). The tea desserts include a grape soda eclair, chocolate covered strawberry (inspired by Up), blackberry marmalade cupcake (inspired by Sully), and cheesecake (inspired by Ratatouille). All of the adult tea sandwiches and the deviled egg are vegetarian, if you request no caviar on top of the deviled egg.

For the kids tea, kids can choose tea (iced or hot), milk, hot chocolate, or juice. The tea sandwiches are PB & J (in the shape of Woody’s boot), pepperoni and cheese (that looks like a monster mouth), and watermelon and cucumber sandwich. The desserts are a chocolate covered strawberry (inspired by Woody), and the same eclair, cupcake, and cheesecake as the adult tea. If you have dietary restrictions, be sure to mention it upon check-in. While they don’t have a separate allergy menu, they can accommodate allergies and gluten-free diets upon request.

Other special touches for the tea are the centerpieces on the tables (subtle centerpieces that are Pixar inspired, I saw a Finding Nemo one, an Up one, and a Toy Story one.
Most recently, I experienced the Alice in Wonderland tea! My daughter went dressed as Alice, perfect since she has blonde hair and blue eyes! The sandwiches were very whimsical, and the desserts bold and colorful!

I think the Alice tea was pretty equal in taste with the Pixar theme, with the main difference being the theming. I will say I loved the butterscotch scones though better than the previous ones I had. Each tea is the same pricing and includes the same items based on the package you choose.

Another themed tea was the Haunted Mansion, which was in Fall 2019. Currently, Disneyland is offering a Cinderella themed tea until March 29, 2020. Coming up after that from April through May is a Tangled themed tea! You can learn more about the upcoming teas here.

How to Get a Reservation for Afternoon Tea
I go to every themed tea Steakhouse 55 offers, and am often asked for pointers on how to know when a knew tea is happening to get a reservation (since they book up really fast). To best assure you get a themed tea reservation, these are the methods I do which I recommend:
- Dining reservations open up 60 days in advance. Often times themed teas are announced sooner than 60 days, so tea reservations might already be gone before a themed tea is even announced! I book a tea reservation once every other month, in anticipation it might coincide with a themed tea. More often than not it does, and if it doesn’t worst case you can always cancel (or just enjoy the classic tea!). But making a date on your calendar every other month to make a tea reservation is a good safety net.
- If you missed making a reservation, check each day to see if there happens to be a cancellation. The upcoming Cinderella tea is one I forgot to do, but finally snagged a reservation after checking for an opening each day for a couple weeks. I finally got lucky and it seems there was a cancellation! Checking the day of a tea is helpful too, as many people cancel the night before or day of.
The teas are fantastic, truly a Disney fan’s dream! And I can’t recommend them enough. Happy dining!

Everything looks so colorful! I’m not sure when I’ll be back but I hope they do another themed one of these! Looks fun!
