Update: Walt Disney World Plant-Based Menu Options Now Available!
Today the Walt Disney World plant-based menu options are now available! You can find the list of all the menu options at Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs, Disney’s Boardwalk, Disney’s Water Parks, and Disney’s hotels by visiting their dedicated page here.
Since I began my blog, I’ve said my hope was that by showing and talking about vegan and vegetarian options at Disney Parks maybe eventually I Disney one day adding more of these options to their menus. Each person speaking about their desire for these options I think has helped make this big change at Disney Parks! So I was excited to see the news on Disney Parks Blog today, that EVERY restaurant at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort will be offering plant-based options.
“Guest feedback is first on the menu when we evolve our menus and develop dishes. Our guests have embraced our plant-based offerings at our parks around the globe, inspiring us to expand our menu and introduce a new menu icon, a green leaf, that will make it easier than ever to find these creations during your visit.” – Disney Parks Blog
Not only is it a huge step in the right direction that each restaurant will have plant-based items, but I am also pleased to hear these items won’t be confusing to find or “secret” menu items, but will have an icon to easily identify them.
“These fun and flavorful options are made from plant-based ingredients like vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, seeds, and legumes – and are made without animal meat, dairy, eggs or honey. From comfort-food classics to exciting new dishes for the adventurer in all of us, everyone will find something to delight their tastebuds.” – Disney Parks Blog
When will we start seeing these changes to menus? Probably sooner than you think:
- October 1st: Quick service restaurants at Walt Disney World will launch their plant based menu.
- October 3rd: Table service restaurants at Walt Disney World.
- Spring 2020: Disneyland Resort
I have to be honest, this news is pretty surreal! I have said that one day I think Disney will make this change and not make it so hard to find plant-based options, and now that day is soon coming that they will be offering more and properly identifying them! Just most recently I noticed the Halloween Time Foodie Guide didn’t make clear note of what are vegan options, so maybe we will be seeing that in the 2020 foodie guides as well! Until the changes launch for the parks, you can check out my food guides to plant based options at Disney Parks!
