Virtually Celebrate Earth Day with Disney
Recently I created a post of ways to virtually experience Disney history. I had a lot of fun crafting that blog post, and discovered lots of cool things in my research for it. It inspired me to create another post about virtual experiences and other Disney magic to experience at home for Earth day!

- Disney Parks Blog recently announced that they will be offering a new mini series called “Wilderness Explorers at Home” that will be available on the My Disney Experience app. The series will launch on April 21st, inspired by the Wilderness Explorer scavenger hunt activity at Animal Kingdom Park and will show kids how to discover nature in their own backyard!
- The Walt Disney Family Museum has an in-person gallery about Walt’s love of nature and work on the True Life Adventure films. You can see excerpts from this gallery online here and visit Gallery 8. The Walt Disney Family Museum also has a blog post about Walt’s True Life Adventure documentaries.
- Learn about animal conservation from from Nat Geo Explorers: National Geographic has a series of short videos where you can learn from experts about animal conservations for different animals. Some of the video topics include manatees, elephants, penguins and more!
- Disney Parks YouTube channel has some videos showing their new baby animals born at Animal Kingdom Park. You can find them below:
- A Walt Disney World cast member recently created a fun video that was Kilimanjaro Safari at home! This would be such a cute thing to do at home with kid’s toys or plush animals for Earth Day:
Disney Inspired Arts & Crafts


There are lots of Earth Day themed DIsney coloring pages and activity pages available, including:
- Create chalk art! You may have seen on social media that many people are creating Disney chalk art to bring some Disney magic to people on their walks. We created some recently wishing people a Happy Earth Day featuring Wall-E and the Orange Bird! Some Disney movies/characters that would also be good for Earth Day for some inspiration to get you started: Wall-E, A Bug’s Life, Kevin from Up, The Lion King and The Jungle Book.
- Decorate pots for plants with Disney flair! Disney Family recently shared this DIY for painting Mickey’s on pots for succulents here.
- Paint rocks as Disney characters: A few years ago, I created this craft idea for painting rocks for your garden as Disney characters. You can see the DIY for Wall-E and Eve rocks here.
- National Geographic is offering free printable coloring pages online here.
- National Geographic is also encouraging people to have a “Neighborhood Safari”, where you can do different animal inspired arts and crafts to display on your windows for your neihgborhood to see. You can learn more about it and see their suggested crafts here.
- A fun craft for your family is painting recycled egg cartons as characters from A Bug’s Life with this DIY tutorial on Disney Family.
