Vegan Food at Pixar Fest
From now through September, Pixar Fest is happening at Disneyland Resort! With the beautiful warm summer weather rolling in, I thought it would be a great time to hit the parks and try the vegan foods at Pixar Fest, both which happen to be Monsters Inc themed! (Fun fact, my first job was working on the Monsters Inc ride at Disney’s California Adventure) Both vegan options can be found at Disney’s California Adventure.
First stop was the Adorable Snowman’s Frosted Treats stand at Pixar Pier, in between the Lamplight Lounge and Incredicoaster area. At the stand, they have a It’s Lemon! cup or cone, which is basically like a Dole whip, but lemon. This dairy-free treat hits the spot on a hot afternoon. It is VERY lemony, so you have to be a citrus lover for this one.
Harryhausen’s Chilled Noodle Salad
At the Lucky Fortune Cookery, which is at Pacific Wharf (in between Cars Land and Pixar Pier) you can find this special Pixar Fest item. I hope that it stays permanently because it is now my favorite quick service dish at DCA! It’s noodles (dyed with natural dyes), carrots, cucumbers, thai basil, peanuts, and a spicy soy sauce. When you pour the sauce over the noodles, the acidity of the sauce naturally changed the pH of the noodles, making it change color to a pinkish purple. It’s very delicious, but incredibly spicy. If you are a fan of spicy foods, you’ll love it! I like how light it is, it doesn’t feel too heavy for it being a noodle dish:
I just love that Disney Parks are getting more fun and creative with their vegan options! Goodbye garden salads, and hello color-changing noodles and lemony desserts!
