The Nutcracker and the Four Realms Blu-Ray

Disclosure: I received a review copy of the film complimentary, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms Blu-Ray

I am so excited to relive the magic of watching The Nutcracker and the Four Realms at home with my daughter, because as of today it is available on Blu-Ray! We had a family movie and game night when we got to watch the movie and bonus features. Since today is National Puzzle Day, we put together this beautiful puzzle featuring Misty Copeland as the Ballerina from The Nutcracker (click here to also download Nutcracker coloring and activity sheets), turned on some twinkle lights, and watched the film. While we had seen the movie twice in the theatres, we had never got to see a look at the making-of this gorgeous movie, so I really enjoyed getting a behind-the-scenes look with the bonus features, which include:

  • On Pointe: Misty Copeland – My favorite scene of the movie is when Misty Copeland performs her ballet that tells the story of the Four Realms. With this bonus feature, you learn more about Copeland, and see how they constructed that scene. I was super impressed to see that the whole set in that scene was a real stage, with practical effects!
  • Unwrapping The Nutcracker and the Four Realms – In this bonus feature, you get to see more of how much of the film were actually real sets. I feel like the use of practical effects and real, constructed sets is really a wow factor when watching this film, and it was amazing seeing how they all made it come together.
  • Music Videos –
    • Fall on Me” by Andrea Bocelli featuring Matteo Bocelli (This song is gorgeous!)
    • “The Nutcracker Suite” by Lang Lang
  • Deleted Scenes
