As a vegetarian for ten years now, I’ve become used to searching for the usual one or two menu items that fit my lifestyle while eating out. I know if you are vegan or gluten-free, searching for something amazing at a restaurant can also sometimes be near impossible. It becomes the standard of what to expect at a quick service restaurant chain. So you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was when I found a quick service restaurant that has a vast amount of options that fit many dietary lifestyles: Noodles & Company.
When you walk inside, you can see their refrigerator storage filled with fresh veggies. When you order a noodle dish, they make it to your specifications fresh to order. On the menu, they clearly list which items are gluten-friendly and which items are vegetarian. Pretty much any dish can be made vegetarian by requesting no meat, and you can add tofu instead if you like! To make enjoying noodles easier for everyone, Noodles & Company has created an online Dietary Calculator, where you can select your lifestyle needs such as vegan, gluten-friendly, paleo, and more. You can even select what items you are allergic too, and it will show what items on their menu fit your lifestyle! This is seriously a game changer for the restaurant industry, I was thrilled about this!
When I went to Noodles & Company I wanted to try a noodle dish that was vegetarian, one that was vegan, and one that was gluten-free to taste test for you all! The vegetarian dish that I ordered was the Zucchini & Asparagus in Lemon Sauce. This dish is actually one of their many zoodle (zucchini noodle) dishes. I love the texture of zoodles, so am very happy they have a whole menu section of them! I added some tofu on top for added protein:
The dish has a great lemony tang to it, that went great with the crunch of asparagus and texture of the zoodles. There were some bread crumbs sprinkled on top which I loved too. This was my favorite of the three dishes I tried. The vegan dish I taste tested was the Whole Wheat Fresca, which I requested without cheese to make vegan. This had the taste of a traditional spaghetti and marinara dish, but with a subtle spicy kick and a rish basil taste. This was my daughter’s favorite dish we tried!
The gluten-friendly dish I had was the Gluten-Friendly Pipette Rosa, which I requested with tofu to also make vegetarian. This dish was spicy and delicious, and very cheesy! This was my husband’s favorite dish.
I loved that not only did they offer a huge variety of options for every lifestyle, but the options are truly delicious. Noodles & Company really believes that no dietary lifestyle should have to have taste be compromised. They’ve done an amazing jobs with their creations, all tasting incredibly fresh and delicious.
