Nightmare Before Christmas at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood
A holiday tradition is returning to the legendary El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood! Each year, The Nightmare Before Christmas plays in 3D, paired with sensory effects (fog, snow, Christmas lights, etc) for a wonderfully immersive movie-going experience! It opened tonight, and will be running until September 25th with showtimes at 10am, 1pm, 4pm, 7pm and 9:45pm. Every 10am showing on Tuesdays will be Tiny Tot Tuesday, which is an easy way for parents of small children to enjoy a movie, where the lights aren’t as dark and there are reduced sound levels. These screenings will be shown in 2D with no added effects.
Now I’m sure as a Disney fan most of you have seen The Nightmare Before Christmas many times. What makes it so special to see it at El Capitan? There’s just nothing quite like the experience of walking along the Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard up to the large El Capitan Theatre marquee. Before the film, you can enjoy a treat at Ghiradelli soda fountain next door, as well as shop at the Disney Studio Store that has merchandise themed to what is currently playing at the theatre, as well as merchandise exclusive to that Disney Store location. Once you enter the theatre, there are fun photo ops, displays themed to the movie in the theatre’s downstairs area, and then when you take your seat you can hear their organist play until it’s time for the show!
After The Nightmare Before Christmas concludes its run, you can enjoy showings of Hocus Pocus from September 26-October 7th, Coco from October 10-13th, and Maleficent Mistress of Evil when it opens October 18th.
