It’s always a magical moment when you get to meet the person behind a brand and the women behind the blogs. The other night I got to do both during a lovely evening of cooking, tasting, and laughing with Ling Ling Asian Kitchen as they debuted their new line of Ling Ling Fried Rice that features five distinct Asian-inspired flavors hailing from Japan, China, Korea, and Thailand.

One of my favorite moments of the night, was hearing the inspirational story of Chef Katie Chin’s mother, who went from being a seamstress who made 50 cents an hour, to overseeing a $15 million dollar business based on her passion for sharing the decadence of Asian food while demystifying the cooking and preparation process of the meals. Chef Katie, the mastermind behind Ling Ling Fried Rice’s new flavors ranging from Yakitori Chicken, Yakiniku Beef, Thai-Style Chicken, Chinese-Style Vegetable, and Bibimbap Beef, explained why they chose to create fried rice dishes. One of the main reasons is that fried rice is the perfect option that includes veggies, grains, and protein, all in one meal. Plus, you can also easily add sides to enhance your meal with Ling Ling Fried Rice being a clean dish and the centerpiece of your meal.

She also explained that the unique Infusion Cooking Method they use ensures that every mouthful is super flavorful and robust. The method allows for every grain of rice to be infused with the Ling Ling signature sauces, so no bite is wasted and every meal satisfies. Together, at BLVD Kitchen, we cooked portobello mushroom skewers, cucumber salad, and soybean sprouts, to compliment our fried rice options. My personal favorites were the portobello skewers and the Bibimbap Beef Fried Rice.

The entire meal was created with high quality ingredients and it was even more than delicious than ordering in or going out to a restaurant. The total prep time for two bags of fried rice is under 10 minutes, which is perfect for my busy lifestyle when I want something healthy without forfeiting time.
