Easy Autumn Baby Purees

Autumn is one of my favorite times of year, not only because of the Halloween decor, changing leaves, and amazing fashion, but all of the delicious, comforting food! My 20-month-old is eating more and more solid food everyday, but purees are a great way to conveniently give her the fruits and veggies she needs to be healthy. And although she might not be able to partake in all of the foods that will be part of our Thanksgiving feast, I wanted my daughter to be able to enjoy the delightful tastes of fall by making easy autumn baby purees.

 

Easy Apple Puree

Easy Autumn Baby Purees

No need to peel apple skins for this puree! This easy apple puree was my daughter’s favorite, and can be enjoyed with all of the fiber-rich apple skin.

Blend together:

  • 1 sliced small to medium red or pink apple
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Optional: 1 Tbsp chia seeds

To serve, I put in a dishwasher safe ChooMee pouch that you can fill with your own purees! I also topped the pouch with one of their special caps that prevent food pouch spills. These caps have been a lifesaver! Before discovering them, my daughter would love to squeeze on the pouches to watch all the food come out. Leaving me with wasted food and a big mess to clean up! I now carry the ChooMee tops in my purse, diaper bag, everywhere!

 

Easy Butternut Squash and Carrot Puree

For this puree, you will need to blend:

  • 1/4 cup steamed (or microwaveable) carrots. Steamed will provide the most nutrients.
  • 1/4 cup steamed butternut squash
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup of water

 

Easy Pumpkin Puree

This puree was another favorite! A mix of fruit and veggies, you will need to blend:

  • 1/4 cup pumpkin puree (canned)
  • 1/4 cup steamed butternut squash or sweet potato
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup water

Easy Autumn Baby Purees

Another item I love to use when serving my daughter purees are these ChooMee Dipn spoons. Although the pouches are convenient and I love to give my daughter the opportunity to feed herself, sometimes I like to have eating time be bonding time by having me feed her. Sometimes though she likes to grab a spoon out of my hand and fling her purees! Not fun for me (although our dog loves it). The ChooMee Dipn spoons are made out of a silicone with intricate grooves that prevent the puree from sliding off. Even when my daughter grabbed the spoon from me quickly it stayed on!

Ingredients

    Easy Apple Puree

  • 1/4 cup butternut squash
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Blend together ingredients for your favorite puree and serve!
