Girls From Around the World Creating a #DreamBigPrincess Video Series

Disney has an amazing new global project underway, working to empower women and show their amazing creativity, through different cultural perspectives. The #DreamBigPrincess video series is in the works! Last year, there was a #DreamBigPrincess photo campaign that raised $1 million in donations in 5 days for the United Nation Foundation’s Girl Up Initiative. This year, the fundraising campaign will be a video series, created by 21 young women from 13 different countries creating digital shorts that tell the stories of inspiring female role models.

Disney will be sharing the video series across their social media platforms to help raise up to $1 million in donations to Girl Up! To create their digital shorts, the 21 participants will be headed to the Girl Up Leadership Summit in DC this week to learn how to make their digital shorts. The young filmmakers will be paired up with an inspirational interview subject, each with varying professions (one of them is Jennifer Lee, the Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios). As the girls return home to finish their films, they will receive ongoing mentorship from Disney, Apple, and female-led production company Summerjax.

Stay tuned in October, when the #DreamBigPrincess video series will debut on Disney’s social media platforms. In the meantime, you can get a sneak peek of the video series here:
