When it comes to giving presents around the holidays, my favorite type of gift to give is an experience: a ticket to a show, museum, event…something that will give the gift of memories with your family that are priceless. This is the Disney Experiences Holiday Gift Guide – most events are Southern California only, since that’s where I’m based, as well as most of my readers, but some are touring events you can experience around the country!

Disney Junior On Tour

Disney Junior is going on tour with a dance party show! With all your kids favorite characters, such as Elena, Doc McStuffins, Sofia, Puppy Dog Pals, and more, this will be such a fun experience for any Disney Junior fan! This show is touring around the country, and even have special VIP upgrades you can purchase if you want to add on character meet-and-greets, a tea party, and more! You can find the touring dates and tickets here.

Waltland Tour

If you’re a hardcore Disney fan or history buff, you HAVE to go on this tour! It takes place in Los Angeles and is led by Disney legend Bob Gurr. He takes you around historic Disney sites throughout LA, including Walt and Roy’s Los Angeles homes, Walt Disney Imagineering, and the Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round, where Walt had the idea for Disneyland. There are many, many more stops, too! You can find out more info here.

Disney On Ice

Disney On Ice is coming to Southern California is December and January with a brand new show: Follow Your Heart. This show has a mix of classic characters, Disney princesses, and even beloved Pixar characters! You can find a discount code, as well as tour dates here.

Seeing a Movie at El Capitan in Hollywood

The historic El Capitan theatre in Hollywood has beautiful art deco design, and is on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The El Capitan is owned by Disney, so they exclusively play Disney movies! They often have exhibits featuring costumes and props from the films playing, as well as character and photo opportunities. They also have a Disney Studio store adjacent to the theatre, and a Ghiradelli ice cream shop. How romantic would it be for a date night or fun family night out to see a Disney movie and then have an epic ice cream sundae? You can find out about showtimes and tickets here.

Star Wars Secrets of the Empire Hyper-Reality Experience

This new hyper-reality Star Wars experience is available at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort beginning December 16th, and at Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort January 5th. Tickets are already on sale, making for the perfect holiday gift for any Star Wars fan! You can find ticket information here.

Disneyland After Dark

For the first time, Disneyland is having an after hours park event in January! On January 18th, Disneyland will have Disneyland After Dark: Throwback Night! Where classic attractions will be open, and special food and drinks will be available for purchase, which have a 1950’s flair. Vintage dress is encouraged! You can find ticket info here.
