My Top 5 Favorite Disney Destinations You Can Book on Expedia

My Top 5 Favorite Disney Destinations You Can Book on Expedia

Thank you Expedia for sponsoring this post. Visit Expedia.com to book your first trip of 2020!

This year, I have visited Orlando, Florida three times, gone to San Francisco, New York City, and  Disney Cruise. It’s no secret I have a major case of wanderlust! Especially if a destination is a Disney travel destination, or has lots of Disney history or themed things to do! I love finding Disney wherever I go.

When seeing new places, or if you travel frequently, booking a trip on Expedia makes planning your itinerary super easy and convenient. Through Expedia, you can choose to find a hotel, or a hotel/flight combo, to an entire vacation package including activities for your vacation itinerary. As we are nearing the beginning of 2020, we are also starting a new year of travel goals and dreams! So I would love to share with you my top 5 Disney destinations on Expedia you can book online or on their app!

5. New York City

In New York City, there’s a surprising amount of Disney! Of course there are the amazing Broadway shows such as Aladdin, The Lion King, and Frozen. All of which you can add-on to an Expedia New York City vacation packages under their “Things to Do” section.

I love this feature, since it makes it incredibly easy to add memorable activities to your itinerary to create lasting memories of your vacation! Plus, when you log-in to your Expedia account on your desktop or on the Expedia mobile app you can have your hotel info, flight info, and activites all in one place if you booked them through Expedia. No more sifting through emails to find confirmation numbers when booking things individually on your own!

In addition the the Disney Broadway shows, some other favorite Disney things to do in NYC are visiting the Times Square Disney Store (it’s the biggest Disney Store in the U.S.), see the free Winnie the Pooh exhibit at the New York Public Library on 42nd Street, as well as see the Hans Christian Andersen and Alice in Wonderland Statue in Central Park. You can book a bike tour or carriage ride through Central Park through Expedia, as well for a convenient add-on!

On our most recent trip, we were able to do all the things on our travel wishlist in NYC by walking. We booked Hyatt Centric Times Square through the Expedia app, and it was an incredibly convenient location, as the name implied, very central to everything. It also had spacious rooms and a restaurant adjacent to the lobby.

4. San Francisco

San Francisco is another amazing city with lots of Disney things to do! We have visited twice this year. During one of our visits for my birthday, we booked Hotel Nikko on Expedia, an absolutely gorgeous hotel located in Union Square.

Union Square is a favorite place of mine to stay in San Francisco, since it’s near amazing stores, restaurants, lounges, and Broadway-style shows. Hotel Nikko has a restaurant on property, plus a Starbucks! This makes it awesome to caffeinate and get ready for a day of your vacation!

You can book your flight and hotels all at once on Expedia.com or the Expedia mobile app, then add on some activities to get your Disney fix in this destination! When we visited and booked Hotel Nikko, it was last minutes. If you’re booking close to your travel date you can find some last-minute deals exclusive to the app.

Some of the experiences they offer under their “Things to Do” tab are skip to the front-of-the-line tickets at the Walt Disney Family Museum. While you’re there at the Presidio, where the museum is located, you can also pop by the Lucasfilm campus, where you can see the iconic Yoda fountain. You can also visit the lobby of Lucasfilm’s headquarters for free during their office hours Monday through Friday.

You can also find many different tours of Muir Woods to select from, the filming location of the Forest Moon of Endor scenes in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

3. Aulani

Aulani is Disney’s Resort and Spa in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu.  You can book rooms at Aulani directly on Expedia, making it easy to also add on a flight and have all of your vacation information listed in one place under your Expedia account.

While I haven’t yet visited Aulani, I am for the first time in the beginning of 2020 to check off a bucket list travel destination of mine to kick off the new year!

With this vacation destination, you can choose to stay on Aulani property the entire time, since they offer a spa, multiple pools, beaches, restaurants and other activities included in a hotel stay there. Or you can search Expedia for hundreds of activities offered in Oahu, including in Honolulu which is just 29 minutes away.

2. Disneyland Resort

Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA has lots of hotel options to choose from! First off, when selecting Disneyland from the Disney destinations on Expedia I recommend choosing a vacation package for Disneyland Resort I would recommend booking a flight, hotel and car bundle.

With Southern California being so spread out, it’s convenient to be able to have your own car if you’re hoping to see sites in Orange County and Los Angeles. So if you’re hoping to see Disneyland, as well as soak in the sun at Laguna Beach, or see the Hollywood Walk of Fame you can save money by having your own rental car!

Now for picking your hotel, if you’re planning on spending the bulk of your time at Disneyland Resort (I would recommend at least four days time), then staying on property at one of their three hotels is a great option. On Expedia you can find all of them: Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa (my family’s favorite is Paradise Pier).

At each Disneyland Resort hotel, they have restaurants on site, as well as Disney characters occasionally at the hotels, large pool areas, and other free activities included for hotel guests. Plus, you can take advantage of Extra Magic Hour, where you can get into one of the Disney Parks an hour early that day, a great way to have shorter lines for the attractions!

There are lots of hotel options off property, many of which you can easily walk to Disneyland from or provide shuttles to the parks. Once your flight, hotel, and car package are booked through Expedia, you can add on activities to your itinerary, including Disneyland tickets. With Disneyland Resort now decked out for the holidays, the end of 2019 would be an especially magical time to book a trip.

1. Walt Disney World Resort

This is my favorite of the Disney destinations on Expedia! Visiting Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL is an incredibly convenient vacation destination, and my favorite place to enjoy my favorite thing: Disney!

When you stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel (you can book that flight and hotel right through Expedia online or right from your phone!), you get Extra Magic Hour just like at Disneyland. You also receive transportation to and from the airport using Disney’s Magical Express complimentary with your stay on property, as well as free shuttles from the hotels to the parks. No need to worry about ground transportation at all!

Some of my favorite hotels to book are Disney’s Coronado Springs Hotel, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Port Orleans French Quarter. And with four theme parks on property, you can spend your entire vacation at Walt Disney World Resort without having to leave! The resort is currently decorated for the holidays, if you’re looking to see the parks decorated for Christmas before 2019 ends!

And just like with Disneyland Resort, you can also add on tickets to Walt Disney World’s theme parks on Expedia, as well as other nearby attractions including Universal Orlando and LEGOLAND.
