D23 Membership Unboxing + Learn About D23 Membership
Different Levels of D23 Membership
We recently signed up for a Disney D23 membership! You may have heard the phrase “D23” from D23 Expo, Disney’s official convention that happens in Anaheim every other year. D23 (stands for Disney and then 1923, the year that Walt Disney came to California), and is the only official Disney fan club. When you sign up for the D23 fan club, you can have a general membership which is free (which allows you to see exclusive articles and stories, which are particularly great if you’re a history buff or Disney nerd like me), a Gold membership, which is $79.99 and you get the quarterly D23 Magazine, an annual gift, as well as the ability to sign up for events (some events are free, some cost money, and most you can bring a plus one to). The other membership type is the D23 Gold Family membership, which is $104.99, it has the same benefits except you can sign up 3 additional people instead of just one guest for most events.
Types of Events You Can Attend With a D23 Membership
A few years ago, we were D23 members and attended quite a few events! We took a bit of a break when life got a bit more hectic for us, but recently re-signed up (we missed is so much, the events are just too awesome!). The events can range from free advanced movie screenings in various cities throughout the U.S., to fan mixers, to more intimate ticketed events that are Disney fans dreams! Some examples are an upcoming tour of Pixar they’re doing, to one I went a few years ago which was a tour of the Walt Disney Archives and lunch with Dave Smith (founder of the Walt Disney Archives). You can see all the upcoming events here.
D23 Membership 2018 Annual Gift
Each year, the D23 membership annual gift (which you receive with Gold or Gold Family) changes each year. I LOVE the gift this year, which is all Mickey themed (since it’s Mickey’s 90th anniversary). There are replicas of Mickey memorabilia from the Walt Disney Archives from all decades. You can see all the goodies it includes in the photos and video below:
