Avengers: Endgame is Now on 4K, Blu-Ray and Digital!
With the film serving as an ending for three of the Avengers’ mightiest heroes, Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Widow, the bonus features have a few featurettes on the legendary characters, such as a reflection on the casting of Robert Downey, Jr. as the iconic Tony Stark, with his characterization being the perfect entry point for the brand new universe 11 years ago. Captain America, the man out of time, is the subject of three featurettes, detailing his character arc, from starting as a scrawny nobody to becoming the superhuman leader of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. “Steve and Peggy: One Last Dance” examines the enduring relationship between the two star-crossed lovers in different times, and explains the decision Steve makes to achieve his happy ending in the film. Black Widow, although not completely finished with the MCU (her solo film is set to be released next year), is one of the films heroic casualties, and also receives a tribute to the character, detailing the complexities of her character and how much she has changed and grown from her debut in 2009’s Iron Man 2.

was a poignant ending in many respects for various storylines and eras within the MCU, but it also marked a particularly meaningful end as the last MCU film to feature a cameo from Marvel Comics founder Stan Lee, as he passed away in late 2018. The bonus features include a special tribute to all the cameos Lee had done for the films, as he appeared in each Marvel movie (even Marvel films outside of the MCU). The Blu-Ray also comes with a slew of deleted scenes that didn’t make it into the over-three-hour cut of the film. Most are short add-ons to existing scenes, including an extended interaction between Rocket and Thor in 2013 Asgard and some funny observations from Rhodes and Rocket during the “time heist” planning, but there are some significant scenes, such as an extended conversation between Tony and his father Howard Stark in 1970 and an extended version of Tony’s death scene, wherein his fellow Avengers each take a knee to honor him, making the already powerful scene even more emotional.
Additional featurettes come from the directing duo, The Russo Brothers, outlining their journey in shaping the climactic conclusion, a feature on the powerful and inspiring heroines of the MCU, and a feature on the creation of “Bro Thor” and the extensive makeup that went into transforming Chris Hemsworth into Thor’s most dramatic change.
